People ask me all the time, where my go-to manicure places are, or what my favorite spas in Chicago are. I usually try to give a recommendation based on location, treatment or price point, but I’ll be honest with y’all. Sometimes I really don’t know. I can only speak to what I’ve been to. There are some magnificent spas in this town but I haven’t been to nearly enough of them. Thursday’s Child has far to go. Typically in the past if I wanted to find a new spa to try, I’d go online and look at a ton of reviews and then try to find spa discounts or a special day with lower prices. It was a tedious process that typically led me to go to the same places over and over again, whether I liked them or not. But recently I got to try out an incredible new service that was pretty much the easiest thing ever and helped to make sure that I didn’t mess up my manicure! I gotta tell you all about Groupon’s Salon and Spa Booking service. That’s how I got this manicure! And if you read ALL the way to the bottom of this post, you can enter to win spa and salon services for one year in the form of a Groupon gift card worth $600 USD!
First things first, download the Groupon app to your smartphone. In general it’s a great source for deals on goods and restaurants. And now, beauty services! Here’s the breakdown of their Salon and Spa Booking service, via Groupon:
Groupon is excited to unveil the easiest way to book beauty with its new BeautyNow service. This app allows users to seamlessly book their beauty services, enjoy discounted appointments during select times and at top salons and spas, and a Cashless Payment feature applied post-service.
Check it out. If you open the Groupon app and choose “salon and spa booking” from the top tabs, you’ll land on the BeautyNow page. Please note – Groupon still has a tab for Beauty and Spas, where you’ll find specific deals at nearby spas and salons. BeautyNow is a booking app through Groupon. Something totally new and different! And the BeautyNow page looks like this.
Then, choose based on location or ratings. Or both! I chose Spa Anjou based on location, availability and ratings. It was so easy. And you pay and even tip in the app, so it’s a go once you book your appointment. And then it reminds you a few times that your appointment is coming up. So helpful!
Booked my appointment and away I went to Spa Anjou, a peaceful oasis in the middle of historic Printer’s Row. It was such a serene experience.
They had a great color selection so I had a hard time choosing one.
I settled on these two blues, Color Club’s Williamsburg for toes and Essie’s Bell Bottom Blues for my fingers, with an overlay of Snow You Love Me glitter on top (which is super hard to find now).
I pretty much had Spa Anjou to myself and it was delightful! I got a great mani/pedi.
My manicure turned out really well, and because I used Groupon’s Salon & Spa Booking service, I didn’t have to take out my wallet or credit card to pay! I literally let my nails dry as long as possible and then left without touching anything (gotta maintain that mani)!
Thanks to Vivian at Spa Anjou for your gentle patience. If you visit Spa Anjou, ask for Vivian!
I’d totally recommend the Groupon experience for booking beauty treatments anywhere, anytime! AND I’ve got a promo code for my beauty loving bellas and fellas. First of all, visit the app store where you can download the Groupon app — if you’re based in Chicago, download the Groupon app and select “Salon & Spa Booking” at the top to start booking! And if you have the Groupon app on your phone, click here to go straight to the experience.
Then use the promo code AFROBELLA10 so you can receive $10 off your first salon & spa booking! And then come back here after your delightful beauty experience to tell me how much you enjoyed it!
Thanks to Groupon’s Salon and Spa Booking for a great spa experience. I hope you find somewhere as lovely as I did when you try it out!
