It was a bleak, rainy, miserable Chicago autumn day but still SO many of my wonderful friends and readers and social media followers came out to Sephora to my Cover FX Find Your Shade event last week. I so appreciate everyone who came out, despite the weather! You guys rock!
The event was all about introducing Chicago makeup lovers and newbies to Cover FX, which is available online and at select Sephora stores. You can find Cover FX only at the Sephora in Northbridge (on Michigan Ave) right now, but if you request it at other Sephoras, they may add it to their store!
Everyone who came got shade matched by a professional makeup artist, and got introduced to Cover FX’s CC Cream, which is an amazing product that treats, protects, and corrects your skin over time while giving you coverage for your blemishes. I am a FAN. In the summer I was more of an X-Deep. Now that it’s fading into winter, I’m more of a Deep. I can use this instead of foundation, dot some powder on my T-zone and GO. Love it!
I spent most of the evening like this:
Snapping pics of my attendees and posting everyone on Instagram!
What am I wearing? This is the Anna Scholz jewel blazer from Simply Be, a black tank from Old Navy, and black skinny jeans from Lucky. I got my jewelry at random events I’ve attended – that necklace cost me $20! And the ring is from Max and Chloe.
Who’s all in this photo? I spy LeTroy of Thriftinista in the City and her adorable daughter Violet!
And who’s all in this photo? LeTroy (looking at me crazy, LOL), Tori of Glasses and Glitter, Venita of Girl Get A Life, and Renisha of Renewed Fitness!
Here I am with the amazing makeup artist Derek Selby, who works with Cover FX. Derek is a DOLL and a legend in Canada. Get into him!
Everyone who came also got a complimentary Cover FX primer of their choice. I’m addicted to the Mattifying Primer.
Here I am with the super sweet Jaxx Sheard, Renisha Renewed, and the awesome Maya-Camille Broussard AKA The MCB Project with her sweet auntie!
And here I am with Terez Baskin, author of 11 Beautiful Tools: The Social Media Success Guide For Beauty Professionals, and Tori of Glasses and Glitter.
Renisha really got into Cover FX and plans to go back to Sephora to get more products. “I enjoyed learning about what makeup goes well with my skin tone and type. The ladies did a great job of matching my tone and showing me what sets Cover FX apart from all other brands I’ve tried. My foundation powder stayed fresh, bright and smooth the whole night!” she told me. And that’s what the event was all about. So often we tend to think when we have a particular shade of brown that we will have a hard time finding makeup to match our skin tone, but with brands like Cover FX its getting easier every day. I recommend you stop by Sephora and find your shade.
Thanks to everyone who came out and showed love, and thanks to Cover FX for their support!
