They say life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans. If you’d asked me months ago, “Patrice, will you be in Trinidad in December?” I would have said no. I had no plans to go back home in the immediate future, but plans were in the works for me. And now I’m beyond proud to announce that I’ll be in Trinidad for a nice little chunk of December, for a pair of prestigious speaking engagements.

First up, Style Spirit Fashion Weekend, an unprecedented fashion event put together by Trinidad Lookbook (@TdadLookbook). I’m so honored to be a part of this! There will be seminars by day and runway shows by night, followed by massive after-parties featuring top local DJs. It’s being described as “three days of solid fashion and great vibes.” I am SO ready!

The OTHER event I’ll be in Trinidad to participate in, is TEDxPortofSpain’s 2012 conference on 12/12/12. I’m giving a TED talk. On the theme of courage. And I’m quite nervous about it, if you really want to know the truth. How’s that for delicious irony?
Tickets for TEDxPortofSpain take some notes from TED, in that delegates request an invitation to attend the conference, and then those who have requested can purchase tickets at TT $300. Click here for more info on that.
Between these two engagements I’ll still be blogging and sharing my adventures on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – so even if you’re not able to come with me to Trinidad, you’ll still get to see how beautiful my homeland is.
