Hey there! It’s the first week of this bright, shiny, brand new year and already I’m writing to you from an airplane. I’m on the way to Las Vegas, where I’ll be speaking at Blogworld’s New Media Expo!
My session is on Tuesday morning and it’s titled How To Actually Grow A BIG Brand And Community With Just A Simple Blog. I’m excited! And nervous!
I’ll be honest with you guys — even though I get better and less nervous with practice, I still get nervous and I still feel like a fish out of water when I have to do this public speaking thing. At NMX there’s so many amazing speakers, so many of whom do this professionally and can truly speak to technology. And this is a 45 minute long presentation (as in Powerpoint). Not my field of expertise but I’m gonna give it my all and share everything I can, and I know I was chosen for a reason – because I can DO THIS!
And yes, as recommended in my Blogworld post on the Do’s and Don’ts of Conference Fashion – I will be rocking a power blazer.

Vegas is a great place for parties! If you haven’t heard, Hakkasan Vegas is opening. It is the biggest nightclub inside the MGM Hotel. The nightclub also has a restaurant. Check it out!
