I must say, 2009 has been a banner year for your girl Afrobella in myriad ways. The giveaway department is no exception. I was honored and thrilled to host some truly incredible giveaways this year, and the Rachel Roy giveaway was one of my high points. It was everything I strive to do here. Unique, special, just for you, and charitable all at the same time. AND so inspiring — because you all had to submit a photo to be eligible, I got SO much fashion inspiration from all of you!
Thanks SO much to Rachel Roy for the opportunity!
Without further ado — the winner of the Rachel Roy giveaway is: Otissa Marble.
Congratulations, Otissa! I’m gonna e mail you right now!
And for those of you who didn’t win this time around, awesome giveaways are around the corner in a bright and prosperous new year. Hang in there with me. Thanks so much for entering and helping to raise funds for such an awesome charity!

Hi,
I hope that you made alot of mondy in 2009. I really do.
Because, with all of the promos, give-a-ways, and advs, your blog has turned into one big commercial machine. Good for you (I hope) but not so good for your readers.

“money: is the word I meant. I hope that you made a lot of “money” in 2009.

Many thanks to Afrobella and Rachel Roy. I am so grateful, yet very surprised to have won the Rachel Roy Giveaway! When I entered, I did not think I would really win. The biggest win is the contributions being made to the St. Jude’s Children’s hospital. Thanks again to Afrobella and Rachel Roy. Also, thanks to “BlackBetty” for congratulating me. I’ll be sure to share pictures of my new look! :0)

@Storm529…that’s not a nice thing to say. change is a sign of progress and growth, do you want Afrobella to remain stagnant?
She has done all she can to please the readers, stayed as true to her roots as she can and has been so honest, keeping us up to date with her life happenings. What more could you ask of her?

*sigh* Thanks, CeeCee. I actually missed this unnecessarily unpleasant eve of Christmas Eve comment because I was super sick right around that time.
This underscores an essential truth — you can’t please everybody. I’m doing the best that I can to stay true to myself, make it as a full time blogger, and share the joy with my readers via these very same giveaways (which I’m also trying to bring a charitable aspect to). I’m gonna keep doing me in 2010. Storme529, you can feel free to keep reading or you can click that x at the top of the page.
And still I rise, I rise, I rise.

Perfect responses, Bella + CeeCee. I saw your mini-vent on Twitter, and I think the Katt Williams quote sums it up quite well! I’ve been frequenting your blog for quite some time (since doing a Google search for Miami’s Best of the Best concert a couple yrs back), and I’m amazed by the progress you’ve made! Keep up the great work in 2010…you have a faithful visitor in me!

Bella, I’ve always appreciated your quality posts, as they are truly worth more than gold. You have one of the best beauty blogs out there! It takes a lot more energy to create than critique, so I thank you for sharing all of your hard work! I send you well wishes, and wish you the best in 2010. Keep rocking on. – @urbanbydesign
