Recently a reader left a comment here, along the lines of “I’m glad you’re doing hair posts again.”
This sparked an internal guilt trip that I won’t recount in great detail, but I want to let you all know that I’m gonna try my bestest to do better. It’s hard out here for a full time blogger, y’all. I’m trying my best to keep all the plates spinning and sometimes I lose track of my main focus. It’s extra challenging now that I’m the main hair blogger for AOL Black Voices, and contributing posts about ethnic beauty for The Fairest — I may be assigned a certain topic, or need to do a product review there ASAP, and then I forget to post it here on Afrobella as well. Or sometimes (to be really real with you), I just get burned out on writing about hair all the time and then I’ll switch it up to keep my passions burning.
Either way, mea maxima culpa and I’m gonna do better! Here are some of my recent reviews:
I love, love, love the hair products of Karen’s Body Beautiful. On my cruise, I took products from two hair care brands with me — Jane Carter Solution (review to come!) and KBB. The Hair Butter kept my hair frizz free and pretty from Chicago’s coolness to South Florida’s heat. Click here to read my whole review.
I recently did a review on luxury hair products — click here to read details on such high end brands as Leonor Greyl, Phyto, and Oribe. I’m gonna work on a longer, more detailed how-it-really-works-on-natural-hair post for y’all soon. But trust me, don’t sleep on Leonor Greyl!
And finally — let’s talk makeup!
Over on Who’s The Fairest, I break down the prospects now that Prescriptives is about to shuffle off this mortal coil. Clicky click for breakdowns of my favorite products by expected giants like MAC, Make Up For Ever, and Three Custom, as well as some unexpected recent faves like Black Opal and Fashion Fair. Yes that’s right, I said Fashion Fair! More to come on that historied cosmetics brand soon!

Fashion Fair’s Foundations always made me look pink….. due to lack of different shades of color. Either you were light skinned or Dark Skinned. Nothing in the middle….lol
Haven’t bought FF products (lipsticks) in years…..
Cannot wait to be amazed and dazzled by your FF reviews !

Don’t feel guilty Bella! I feel guilty getting all of this great fun for FREE! I truly appreciated all of your work. Because of you I now know about Etsy, Valana, Jessicurl, other fantastic bloggers, new artists, of course new products! Do your thing girl! We know you love us!

@okra- i knw what you mean about Fashion Fair, and other lines for that matter- they never seem to have colours for inbetween complected girls, it makes makeup shopping frustrating.
Bella I love your hair product and beauty reviews and look forward to reading them.
