In most of the USA right now, the weather outside is FRIGHTFUL. The weather report is talking about all kinds of negative degrees and wind chills. Christmas is in 9 days and the time for gift shopping is yesterday NOW. I’m here for you, with some natural hair gift suggestions you still have time to get, wrap and slide under the tree. OR get for yourself!
Idea 1 – A hair box subscription. If you don’t have time to run out and get a physical gift, why not go online and sign up for a subscription to a top hair box – consider CurlBox, CurlKit, or CurlMix. All great ways to sample new products (or make your own using those CurlMix ingredients)!
Idea 2 – Cocktail kits! Speaking of making your own products, cocktailing is mainstream now and you can buy products to play with at home, depending on your hair’s needs. Take for example, the Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture’s Custom Hair Masque Cocktail Kit, which is said to work for all hair textures, from straight to tightly coiled. OR you can make your OWN cocktail kit, and buy little bottles of argan oil, coconut oil, olive oil, or tamanu oil for your giftee to mix themselves!
Idea 3 – What about hair accessories? There are some great stocking stuffers out there made by indie brands, and I can personally vouch for having tried the Snappee and the Poof-It. Also Pulleez are pretty. For a fancy alternative, check out the Maria Shireen bracelet hair tie.
Idea 4 – A full set of your favorite brand! If you’ve got natural hair yourself, or know a particular brand rocks, then why not buy three or four of their most popular products and make a gift basket for under the tree? Some brands have already put together super cute gift collections – take for example Macadamia Professional Collection, which is selling 10 oz bottles of their shampoo, conditioner and masque in blends for specific hair needs — Weightless Moisture, Nourishing Moisture and Ultra Rich Moisture – for $35.
So that gives you an idea — you can create your own gift basket of bomb hair products based on your favorite brands, or brands you’ve heard amazing things about, or brands you’ve heard your friends/loved ones rave about trying. Some of my picks that would make a great gift set? Check out this alphabetized list of some of the top brands I’ve tried in 2016 (some of which I’m currently reviewing, but am enjoying enough to recommend):
Be Kekoa (and click here to read all about their special ingredient, tamanu oil)!
Curls ( I especially like the Blueberry Bliss collection and they’ve got a hair multivitamin now)!
Oyin Handmade (the Snack Packs are a PERFECT gift)
Idea 5 – Hair maintenance products! I’m pretty much a wash and go girl, but I absolutely do use products to protect my hair. A hair towel or special shower cap can make a great gift for the naturalista who has everything. Check out Theodore Vernell or Shhhower cap for cool, extra big showercaps with personality. Breezy Tee and Hubalou make great hair towels in fun colors. And to protect your hair from winter weather, check out Grace Eleyae’s satin lined caps.
Hope you get your holiday shopping all done – for friends, family and yourself! See anything you want to find under your tree? Tell me in the comments!
