Bellas, I’m still basking in the afterglow and the glory that was my very first BlogHer conference. I was so honored and proud and excited to participate, and the experience didn’t disappoint at all. I’d say this was one of the top three conference experiences I’ve ever had. The response has been nothing short of amazing!
I’ll get into a full BlogHer recap soon – this post is about what I wore to my Friday panel, all about The Business Of Blogging! Here I am with my fellow panelists. From left to right that’s Marcus Troy, Gabifresh, me and Natalia of Ma Nouvelle Mode. Loved sharing this moment with them, everyone had so much to share and the feedback we got afterwards was so validating!
The morning before the conference, amazing Chicago designer and makeup artist Niehla Ollie (@NiehlaO) came to my home to give me a soft, pretty, flawless look that would last all day. LOVE Niehla’s energy and she totally made me feel ready and beautiful for my panel! Thank you Niehla!
For most conferences, I tend to go business-funky, meaning I’ll rock a fun, colorful or patterned blazer over all black everything, and rock out the rest with jewelry. But BlogHer is a different kind of conference. BlogHer is about community and accessibility, and while I was speaking on a panel about business, I wanted to fit into the vibe of the conference. I wanted to look fashionable and on-trend, not too done up like I was headed to New York for Fashion Week. I wanted a friendly, welcoming, cute look that wasn’t too businessy. Here’s what I wore.
Mossimo Denim Jacket (Plus), courtesy of Target.
And via QVC, Isaac Mizrahi Live! Dress
Necklace by Mishakaudi
Cuff by Pierre Hardy (this was such an amazing and unexpected gift)!
Fellow plus size fabulous ladies, don’t sleep on QVC! They’ve got some really chic options in a range of sizes. Last summer I worked with them on a fashion lookbook, remember? I love the range of styles and designers they feature.
This Isaac Mizrahi dress is cute, on trend, so perfect for summer, and IT HAS POCKETS. SOLD.
Kelsi Dagger is one of my favorite brands for bags and shoes, and this has quickly become my go-to purse. It’s big, luxe with a touch of edge, and goes with everything!
As you know, I don’t do heels. The espadrilles were comfortable enough to wear all day and trust me, I did a LOT of walking around McCormick Place that day. These are easy summertime shoes that can go with so many outfits.
This Target denim jacket is honestly my favorite thing these days, I wear it almost daily. It’s so easy to slip on over a tank top or maxi dress. Denim jackets are so on trend this summer. Next, I need a military jacket!
I felt super comfortable, and got lovely compliments from my friends. And this is a look I’d totally rock again, so if you see me in these Chicago streets working this outfit again, don’t be surprised!
I have SO much to say about my first BlogHer. Stay tuned for a complete recap, including a breakdown of the amazing fashion show experience!

Cute: Yes. I wondered about the necklace. I’m not a heels gal either. I loved this look; didn’t realize Mizrahi had a dress like this. Thank you so much for doing this OOTD. Now if I can just have your hair…love the colors.
