Get your softest tissues and your most waterproof eye makeup ready for this Sunday evening, bellas. This weekend’s season premiere of Extreme Makeover – Home Edition is a very special tearjerker. I know, I know. I hear you. “Um, every episode of Extreme Makeover – Home Edition is a tearjerker. What makes this one so different?”
Eight words — First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.
Our beloved FLOTUS partnered with Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover crew to assist in a cause very close to her heart — the plight of military families.
The Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House in Fayetteville, North Carolina is run by Barbara Marshall, and the house exists as an essential hub for former servicewomen who have found themselves in dire straits once returning from active service. These are women who risked their lives at war and have returned home to no job, no money, and no home. There are families that live at the Jubilee House, and many others who visit to use their computers to look for jobs, print resumes, and try to rebuild their lives.
I was lucky enough to see a preview of this weekend’s episode, and it was so beautiful and touching and filled with so many surprises! And Mrs. Obama is as warm and beautiful and wonderful as you might imagine. SUCH a great episode.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition airs Sundays from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET on ABC. Set your DVRs and Tivos!
Much love to Barbara Marshall and the women of the Jubilee House. Click here to learn more and support the Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House!

I hate it when Mrs. O hunches like that not a poised look and take off the belt it’s under the breast…not attractive!
