Wedding season is upon us, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s got ceremonies galore to attend this summer. My husband and I will be in attendance at four weddings, and I’m a bridesmaid in one of them!
All of the invitations and registry lists reminded me of my own wedding, so many years ago. Nine years ago we used the internet to help plan our wedding, sure. But things have gotten SO much better and easier for brides-to-be today! There are so many more online resources and great ideas out there. So in honor of my afrobella brides, I’m going to start a new series. And I’d love to feature photos of you on your wedding day rocking your natural hair on your most special day!
I want to feature YOU and your photos, and I want to know your best advice for brides to be regarding natural hair, makeup, wedding planning and surviving the big day in general! I’ll also be featuring businesses that can help you make your wedding special. Look out for upcoming posts featuring amazing wedding rings and dresses for the bride, bridesmaids and more.
If you’d like to submit your photos or let me know about your wedding-related business please e mail me using the subject line Afrobella’s Brides. Love is in the air and I hope to share it here!

What a great idea and perhaps a natural progression.
You were a beautiful bride and quite innovative with respect to your dress and no veil.
Congrats to all new brides -to- be and to those who are already married.

Patrice, I love your site. Your refreshing writing style is a pleasure to read.
Will you please post one of your own wedding pics?

I LOVE your site! I have natural hair and I’ve had it for 7 years! OMG!! I have plenty of stories I could share. However, i would love the opportunity to share with your brides about being a WIFE. My women PLAN for the wedding but fail to plan for the marriage.
I am the founder of the Anointed Wives Ministry & my purpose on earth is to educate people about marriage & bring back the DESIRE to be married. It is my dream that the number of healthy african american marriages would drastically increase because of this education.
