I don’t often find myself starstruck, but I just might find myself speechless and in awe this coming Saturday, April 16.
I’ll be covering the red carpet at the Common Ground Foundation Gala, a fundraising event celebrating women of excellence and leadership. The Intercontinental Hotel will be hosting an evening of fine food, a silent auction, and live entertainment for the likes of Keke Palmer, Dee Robinson Reid, Sherri Shepherd, and the woman whose presence I’d most likely be struck speechless by – Dr. Maya Angelou. And of course the magnificent man behind the whole evening, Common himself will be in the house.
Who knew him and Dr. Angelou were so tight? I love everything about this!
What is the Common Ground Foundation? It’s the charitable organization founded by dope MC Common (AKA Lonnie Rashid Lynn) that develops leadership skills and promotes holistic education for kids in underserved communities.
