I love hosting giveaways, I love choosing the fabulous prizes I want you readers to hopefully receive. I love the comments and the response. But you know what I don’t like about giveaways? The AFTER part. The part when I send three, four, and even five e mails and don’t hear back from the reader who won the contest. The part where the company needs more information and my inbox starts blowing up. The part when I start getting e mails like, “hey Bella, when do I get my prize?” and I then have to follow up to make sure that the prizes are in fact, on the way. Those parts are not so much fun.
I’ve had some ups and downs through the years with giveaways. I knew hosting TWELVE would be hard work, and for the most part it’s gone really smoothly. But of course there are always a few hold ups. I’m still waiting to hear back from TWO winners:

Please respond to my e mails within 24 hours with your real names and addresses. I understand sometimes my e mails get caught in junk mail folders etc, but I’ve written you several times and really need to hear back ASAP, or I just have to choose another winner. Hope to hear from you soon.
If you’ve won a giveaway and received your prize, please be courteous and let me know! Often I only hear from winners who haven’t yet gotten what they won. It’s nice to know when things work out for the best.

I recieved my prize which I believe was a Soft and Free moisture kit in 2010. I won it through supplying ideas for future posts. I won the kit not for myself (it doen’t match my hair needs) but for my mother who has been natural for a year and still wears straight wigs every day. She does not know how to take care of her hair and never takes the time to treat her self to new products that may make her feel more confident about it. I included the prize as part of her 32 wedding anniversarily present. She said getting a package of stuff directly related to feeling pretty and pampered as a woman was better than any joint (his and hers) aniversary present I could have given.

‘Bella – I think I responded when I received Miss Jessies but I am not sure. Here it goes- my daughter and I LUV the Miss Jessies super sweetback conditioner!! It moisturized and defined our tight curls and it smells absolutely terrific.
