Recently, gorgeous and fabulous fashion designer had what Oprah might call, an “aha moment.” No, it didn’t come during my interview with her about plus size fashion (although I’m hoping inspiration struck there…HEY Rachel!). And it didn’t happen last night when she was on Project Runway. (did you see her? HEY Rachel!)
Rachel’s moment came when she collaborated with AHAlife.com – “an invite-only, globally curated commerce platform that provides a guided lifestyle shopping experience for women.”
Sounds fancy, right?
The site is simplicity itself – “1 Product. 24 Hours. 100% Inspiring.” Besides fabulous shopping, AHAlife also celebrates enlightenment. Click there to check out Rachel Roy’s inspiration – empowering young women. It’s a curated shopping experience that offers unique items in limited quantities. And for the site, Rachel designed an absolutely elegant trench coat.
It’s gorgeous – and I would totally rock it if I could. But as you’ll see over at AOL’s Stylelist – I apparently have trench coat issues.
My kingdom for a fly plus size trench!

Patrice,
First, I absolutely LOVE that AOL is showing real women’s reactions to clothes. On that note, I cannot stand some of the comments on that post—grrrrrrr.. I just wanted to send you some love, especially after reading some of idiotic things people have said. Kudos to you for responding with grace and elegance. I guess “trench coats” are the word of the day/week from the fashion gods. Yesterday, I stepped into Daffy’s to pass some time..I *never* find things in there that a) I like, b) fit, and/or c) are the right price, so I didn’t have high expectations. I wound up by a rack of trenches and thought “what the hey, why not.” I pulled a few and actually found a cute black one with a removable liner for $60. It’s not the khaki color I dreamed of but it’s cute, fits, and priced just right, SCORE! Now if I can only find a cute pair of boots b/c running shoes are just not going to cut it with this trench.
Thank you for the constant inspiration! Keep on doing what you’re doing, bella!!
