Sherri Shepherd — Chicago gal, comedic actress turned serious actress, she of is-the-world-flat?-I-don’t-know opinions on The View.
There’s something about her that I find extremely likable.
Even when Sherri’s putting her foot in it alongside Whoopi and Babs and making me yell at my TV, I still like her. When she’s playing Tracy Jordan’s take-no-BS wife on 30 Rock, I LOVE her. And I’m interested to see how she’ll fare on Lifetime, as the star of her own self-titled sitcom.
Sherri can be described as semi-autobiographical. It “centers around a newly single mom, paralegal and part-time comedienne/actress who tries to get back into the dating scene and move on with her life after divorcing her cheating husband.” I’ll let the New York Times say it, not me — “Any resemblance to her own very public break-up with the comedian Jeff Tarpley will be purely coincidental.”
During Lifetime’s Sneak Peek Week, all new episodes will air nightly at 7 pm EST. And during this special Afrobella/Lifetime giveaway, one lucky reader (who lives in the USA) will get a sweet Sherri “Single Survival Kit,” which includes the following:
*a PurseN
*Pamper U Pouch (printed zipper pouch includes 10 oz lavender fragrance body lotion, 8 oz lavender fragrance bath crystals, unscented tea light candle, and cool eye gel mask)
*a chrome purse holder
*a pair of velour slippers
*an umbrella
*a rabbit style wine opener
ALL inside a branded Sherri tote bag!
Pretty sweet gift for a single lady! I NEED to get myself a PurseN – how have I never heard of this miracle product before??
All you have to do is leave a comment below and tell me — which of those survival kit items would help you the most as a single woman?

Peajai
Definitely the purse holder!
I go out to eat all the time and am so paranoid about my purse hanging on the back of the chair or sliding around on the floor. I just saw on the news about how much bacteria is on the outside of purses that are routinely left on the floor. Yuck!
Jennifer
Pamper U Pouch, you have got to always be smelling yummy!
trin
The velour slippers would do me the most good. I’m just fine with being single.
Tomi
The rabbit style wine opener. It’ll come in handy for a night w/ my girls, w/ a lucky fella or just me, myself & I.
Lorraine
The Purse N would work for me, I change purses all the time and find i always leave something or when im in line to pay im pulling the world out of my bag.
Nia
An umbrella would be the perfect gift for any single woman living in rainy Seattle. A great umbrella is like a “GOOD MAN”: provides protection from the bad elements, something to hold on too, and it provides support up hills. Unfortuantely,I havent had a gentleman hold an umbrella for me in awhile. To be honest, I am getting comfortable walking with out an umbrella. Yet, at times, it would be great to have.:)
PBG
Oh, I definitely would need that wine opener as a single woman. Wine is great for entertaining or chillin’ alone. 🙂
Ms. Fab
The umbrella, for sure. Because when it’s raining outside, I always like to feel that I’m prepared to brave the storm!
LaToya W.
A new umbrella would come in handy running from work to school or happy hour.
Layna
I need a kit that’s going to get me out of this singleness. I wish it was as easy as bumping up into or out of tax brackets. LOL No but for real, I’ll have to choose the Pamper U Pouch to make me feel like the beautiful, sexy, amazing woman that I am!!
Patricia
I “need” that Purse N..!! Please Afrobella let me win.
Nicolette
OMG! afrobella this would be love if I won this. As a 21 year old single college student it really doesn’t leave much time for dating or pampering. But if I had this bag it would definately make a difference. Since I have hard wooden floors they really hurt my barefeet. So the velour slippers would warm my toes. lol Plus the bathcrystals and the eye mask could allow me to make a spa at home. 🙂
Carmesha
I need a PurseN! I’m “that girl” that always holds up the checkout line fishing around my purse for my wallet. Also, I change purses almost on a daily basis to match my outfits, so the PurseN would definately make it easier for me to transfer my stuff from one bag to the other.
ShootingStarsMag
the pamper u pouch would be great for me. If you don’t have a guy pampering you, you still have to take care of yourself and feel loved right??
blkallure
Girl, the PurseN! I travel all the time because of my job. I must say organization helps me stay sane. I’m always looking for something that takes me forever to find and I always switch bags. The PurseN is a wonderful idea and could help me keep it together.
Sabrina
The wine opener, of course!
Kyeshia
The PurseN for sure!!! It’ll definitely come in handy when you’re talking about someone with a purse fetish *points at myself* Can’ tell you how many times I’ve wanted to change purses to match my outfit or my daily activity but just didn’t have to energy to switch everything over. I’m always afraid that if I don’t take the time to switch everything in my purse over, that I’ll end up forgetting something.

I need a purse holder.. my grandma says never sit your purse on the floor. I also witnessed someone get their purse stolen because it was sitting on the back of her chair. I need a purse holder.
Carolyn E.
The Wine Opener!!!! Most definitely. I am single…In grad school…working hard…and it’s paying off. So after studying and not sleeping for 7 days straight..I will need that wine opener to crack a bottle and ease my mind (at least until I realize that I have another exam/paper in 24 hours :O
T.T.
Oh the wine opener foooor sure!!! For various moments…like when I get home and work has gotten on my nerves and for when I get home and work hasn’t got on my nerves! LOL
Franki
Obviously the wine opener. I work part-time for the county, and then I go to class (picking up extra credits before grad school), and then I do hours of homework. If I’m going to do this mess, I’m doing it with a bottle of Cabernet (and, hopefully, a kick-ass wine opener).

I just recently went through an extremely painful break-up and the PAMPER U POUCH’S lavender products will help me to feel more relaxed and calm and the cool gel mask will freshen my puffy eyes.
–This too shall pass(sigh..)
Amanda
I would definitely need the PurseN the most. I thought about the umbrella, but I love the feel of the rain in my natural and I like that it can get wet and I don’t worry or duck for cover. On the OTHER hand, I can never find ANYTHING I need, one of my four sets of keys, my cell phone even, when it is ringing and flashing, my favorite headband or some bobby pins to hold this fro back or some lipstick to pretty myself up. It can sometimes lead to the purse being dumped out wherever I am — Not ideal when you are standing in the middle of the street with your friends after a night out and you all just want to get in the car and go home! So, yeah, I could use the PurseN.
Zina Brown
Definately the pamper U pouch, the eye mask and the bath crystals after a hard day at work and the lavender spray will lift me up as well.
Keisha Bloise
As a single female, the most beneficial would be Pamper U Pouch (printed zipper pouch includes 10 oz lavender fragrance body lotion, 8 oz lavender fragrance bath crystals, unscented tea light candle, and cool eye gel mask) because you have to love “you” entirely before you love someone else. Pampering yourself and loving you will cause others to be attracted to your energy. & only you and God can love yourself first!
Peace & Love yall!
nikki
the purseN would work best for me. I am always switching purses and leaving something imprtant out (like my wallet or license). That would be a great help. Not to mention that the colors are really cute!
toni
i may be pretty but i have the ugliest feet my second toe is longer than my big toe and i dont have time to get a pedicure as often as i should. Being single i dont have anyone to give me a nice foot massage so the slippers sound like the next best thing nice, warm and cozy. Not to mention hiding my dogs too.
Donna
The PurseN — for sure. My purse is large and filled with the kitchen sink. So when my cell phone rings, I can’t find it. Not without stopping everything to launch a major search and rescue operation. With the PurseN, I could just stash the phone there and it would be within easy reach when that special someone called.
Roz
The Pamper U Pouch is just what this single woman needs after a long week at work. The PurseN would be very handy too
Suthungal
Hands down, the Pamper U Pouch. Things are rough! I work at a very stressful job, I’m going through some changes with my man right now,and I’m caretaker for my 80 year old mother who has Alzheimer’s. Every evening, I try to end my day by closing my self up in the bathroom and soaking in a hot tub of water. Some days, that may be the only time I’ve had to myself. The bath crystals, the candles, the mask and lotion would go a long way towards relaxing and releasing my stress for a night’s sleep and maintaining some sanity for the next day.
Brown-eyed Girl
A single girl most needs an umbrella. It keeps her dry in the rain, and protects her skin from too much sun. An umbrella’s year-round weather- and beauty-protection properties keep an Afrobella always looking her best. Finally, an umbrella can be used as a weapon to fight off the unwanted attention of “wolves!”
michelle
the pursen!!!…i hate to admit it, but…my purse(s) are like the houses on clean house…i am always losing something in the black hole…i would send u a picture, but you know the little memory card thingy that goes in your camera to hold your photos? well, it’s lost in one of my purses and the little cord that u get to attach it to your laptop? yeah, well that thing is lost in one of my purses in the closet!!!
Kimberly Keyosha
If I had to pick one item, I would have to say the body lotion. I absolutely love scented body lotions, oils and fragrances. It’s something that I can put in my bag, and put on all day long at work, and at home after I shower.
Lisalis
As a natural hair single woman, the most helpful item for me would be the umbrella. I’m sad to say I often test the rain thinking “I don’t have to worry about my hair.” I end up cold and damp eventhough my hair looks fine.
ichoosethesun
Definitely the PurseN! It is exhausting trying to be fashion savvy and switch up my handbag game when you have to transfer all of the ‘essentials’ from one bag to another – I almost inevitably forget something. The PurseN will not only keep me organized but keep me fly on the go!
CB
Honestly, at this moment, the Pamper-U Pouch would help me the most as a single woman. I would have rather have said the PurseN because I could use it so I can feel fierce all the time. I would have that time to utilize all of my fabulous purses that I own, when I really want to, without worrying about the transfer of all items big and small. However, you used the word “single” with woman, and I have realized that as a single woman I need to me to remember that I need to take care of myself and not rely on others to make to me feel good. i.e. a man. As a divorced 30 something, it has been hard to have that faith that there is someone out there for me. Don’t get me wrong, I am a hopeless (ful) romantic at heart, but lately I have felt quite jaded. Perhaps, if I take that time again to relax, focus on myself and who I am and appreciate myself, with the assistance of the PamperU, I can put that good energy back out in the universe and attract a Mr. Right. So this time next year, I won’t respond, because I will not be single!
P.S. There is nothing wrong with being single, I would just like to find a lifelong companion.
Chris
Hello! 😉 The Pamper U Pouch would help me the most because I know the lavender would help me unwind and relax at the end of the day. I work all day and take care of my daughter on my own so anything that can help me have “me” time and relax would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! 😉
ValJC
The cool eye gel mask would definitely help me. I’m a full time college student and volunteer at a non-profit. After sitting in front of glaring computer screens all day, I absolutely need something to freshen my eyes and me as a whole.
Khamara Cleaves
The purse holder for sure. I have wanted one for a while but haven’t seen them. A great idea for a lady on the go!

Hmm, it’s hard to choose! I KNOW I need a purse organizer: I teach 7th grade, and just the other day, I forgot to put my phone on silent. Wouldn’t you know, just as the room is quiet, T.I. starts blasting from my phone and I could NOT for the life of me find where it was in my purse!! Of course the kids had a great time with that. So I don’t know; maybe I needed the wine opener after embarrassing myself? Lol!
Treonda
Hello!
The item that will help me the most is the pair of velour slippers! I am a single woman who is working full time and pursuing a master’s degree at the time, all while trying to maintain somewhat of a social life. All of this can sometimes lead to many tired and stressful days though I know it will be worth it in the end. These slippers will help to bring a touch relaxation after all the chaos that my busy life can bring. Even if my mind is busy thinking of the things I have to do, my feet will be nice and cozy with these slippers! 🙂
Stacy
Girl I need that umbrella! It’s raining cats and dogs in the KY today and I don’t have an umbrella. The one I had broke and I haven’t replaced it. A sister’s hair is a hot mess behind that.
Rhonda
Oh Em Ge!! Most definitely the PurseN would be the biggest help! I was just telling a close friend how bad I feel when I have to dig around a huge purse looking for a tiny pen! The second biggest help would be a purse holder. I had never heard of them until today. I did a search and learned how they work and LAWD could I use one of those!
sabreena
I don’t know if it would completely solve the jumbled puzzle that I call a purse, but having one place to put all of my essentials would do wonders,so the PurseN would be my fave item from that stash.
Jodi
The PurseN for sure. I have so many little bags ranging from zip loc baggies to cloth or plastic little bags that hold everything from toothpaste kits to makeup. I seriously need to get it all under control!
Thanks, love your blog! 🙂
SavingDiva
a rabbit style wine opener! 🙂 Being single is hard work! I need a glass of wine to unwind.
Tameika
I would say the pamper U pouch, it sounds relaxing and wonderful and I can already smell the candle! Mmmmmmm
