Wow. I am amazed by the internet, the speed of information, and the speed of entrepreneurship.
The debate was just last night, and already online hustlers have run away with the two taglines of the evening — “That One,” as John McCain grumpily referred to Barack Obama, and “my friends,” which McCain said an astonishing 22 times (good grief, imagine if you were playing a drinking game!).
Not even 24 hours, and look at how many That One and “Not John McCain’s Friend” teeshirts are up for sale!
I found these on Vote for That One, That One 08, and of course, good ol Cafepress.
Seen any funny political entrepreneurship lately? What’d you think about the debate?
InstantVintage
I’ve seen more sad political entrepreneurship than funny, so this is definitely refreshing.

I watched it and Obama had all the class in the world and really tried to answer the questions. I really tried to listen to McCain with an open mind but he is soooooo condescending. He really must know and not care. Each time he said “my friends” I cringed – Yuck

I cringed, too. John McCain is NOT my friend. Don’t speak to me as if I am a child with no understanding of what is going on in the world. Obama just sat/stood in his chair, looking very intelligent and presidential and KNEW he had won this debate. I liked that he didn’t give a “political” answer and didn’t play politics. We all know who is responsible for the state we are in now, it doesn’t have to be driven home with every point. And McCain is always going on and on about his experience and his bipartisanship, well, then, why haven’t you DONE anything to help US, since we are “your friends”? By the time he said “That one” I was TOO through.
Gotta love the American entreprenurial spirit!!!
e.
well this outta help the economy at least…

Obama/Biden 2 McCain/Palin 0
McCain please stop calling me your friend…I should’ve played the drinking game just to get through your part of the debate. You didn’t even have the decency to shake Obama’s hand. He didn’t even give Mr. Brokaw any respect. You’re acting like a grumpy old man defeated. If you’re for the people then why didn’t you and Cindy stay and mingle with the people like Barack and Michelle?
The more McCain/Palin are out on the campaign trail just means that America has to deal with two candidates using meathods to invoke fear while trying to divide us as a people. Stick with the issues…oh wait, they don’t have any that they can explain without tying themselves to Bush/Cheney. Two people who aren’t intelligent spouting whatever just to get elected…now that’s scary! I may have to consider moving to Vancouver if America puts McCain/Palin in the White House.
I think it’s funny that his surrogates keep saying that Obama has never done anything to help create jobs. I guess they forgot about his years of being a community organizer.
I guess I’ll go now so I can get a That One t-shirt to help out the economy. Too bad the government can’t charge McCain for every time he says “My Friend” and “Maverick” and Palin saying “Hockey Mom” and “Maverick”. Ugh!
Oh yeah I think all the CEOs at AIG should be jailed. Shame on you for lying to get help from the government, and then you take your top executives to a spa retreat after you get the money. But wait the government, just gave them more money. Time for a change people. We can’t afford more of the same.
Obama (I mean That One)/Biden 08
They’re the change America needs

I can’t believe the “that one” comment is what people are talking about after the debate. What a non-issue. People should talk about the real issues discussed instead.
Kweenie
E-Fresh, we’ve known about the issues for two years now. The only thing that’s changed (for the worse) is the economy and anyone that isn’t up on that lives under a rock. It is relevant to bring up the ‘that one’ comment. It was completely rude, disrespectful and out-of-place in a presidential debate. If McCain was looking for a one-liner to leave us with, job well-done.
Elise
We went from “that nigger” to “that one.”
Hopefully “that one” will be #1.
Ms. Aja B.
I’ve already placed my orders for “That One 08” tee shirts.
What infuriated me, even more than McCain referring to Obama as “That One” was how most of the media (i.e. CNN & the pundits) tried to dismiss it as nothing more than the slip of an old man. What and ever as my little cousins would say. I love that the Obama supporters of all races are taking what was most assuredly meant to show McCain’s disdain, and using it as a rallying cry.
Bonafide Butter
Thanks McCain for the great one liner. that’ll be in our heads for sure when we vote.

Well Obama is one cool cat and looks more Presidential by the minute. McCain is losing and he knows it which is why he’s so frustrated. His wife’s money nor his military pedigree guarantee him the office. Plus I think he’s sick and we can’t have Sarah Palin in the #2 slot. She’ll sell women down the river in a minute.

McCain really creeped me out when he kept saying “my friend.” Like, that’s not even me being bias– it made me uncomfortable. It was also difficult to watch him hobbling around. Did anyone catch that comment he made to the black guy about not knowing what Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac was? It made me wince.
The “that one” comment made me laugh. He’s so pitiful. I think as big a stink needs to be made out of the “that one comment” and what he said to the young black man as was made out of the “lipstick on a pig comment.” Fair is fair, lol.
Oh, and McCain was turning into McWhiney during the debate. Why was he talking to Brokaw like that? Geez man, have some respect.
Mochagold118
Where I am from they say show me you company and I’ll tell you who you are and MC cain is no different. He has the same arrogance as most of the people who represent the republican. As far as I know “That One” is ours and on Nov 4th we’ll be out there voting and making sure that he becomes “The One”. They cannot keep a good man down!!!
Wes
It was okay- wasn’t really feeling the Town Hall format though. I love Obama’s delivery; he speaks w/ so much emphasis and authority. One can’t help but to pay attention! McCain, on the other hand, sounds very lackluster, scripted and strained. Can’t wait for Nov. 4!!
thatone'sfan
Barak- That One!
Michelle- That Girl!

I think that John McCain should be intelligent enough to carry on a debate without insults, but oh well. I’ve seen all kinds of political shirts in the stores,
westindianladee
You know I kept saying to myself Obama has inspired so many people to entrepreneurship – so you’re definitely on point with the t-shirts, LOL. Sometimes I wish he would talk more about saving, spending less, and entrepreneurship as a means to learning from this economic mess. It’s a tough call but not everyone deserves a bail out.
When I heard McCain say “That one” I caught a fit, I was like who da heck he callin’ dat one meh son? LOL I really believe that McCain thinks the American people are stupid – he keeps insulting people’s intelligence, it’s so annoying! aaah!!! OK just had to get that out.
ShellaBella
again i say before we are dems, repubs, white, black, str8t or gay, we are capitalists!
b.rocka is capitalizing on every angle and people are eating it up.
i say that the one who raises the most “capital” is the winner…hasn’t it always been that in the past? look what happened in ’04 did gore get outvoted or outcashed…be real people. this is just like the emancipation proclamation, and the civil rights movement, not about black or white but green!
*****again these white hoes are simplistic and blindly follow anyone-aren’t they the same ones who made the palin-type glasses sell out? i betcha my left pinkie toe that that hoe does not even have a prescription for those lenses-someone from mccains camp told her to put them on so she can “look smart” SMDH stupid white hoes!
