My new logo has been up and running since August, but trust me to come along months after the fact to share a bit more info. Sorry this took me 4-eva.
Shari Neal won the Afrobella logo contest from a field of fifteen or so other entries — Shari now has her own official website! Click here to check her out!
I’ve finally posted some of my favorites on a freshly created Flickr site — so visit http://www.flickr.com/photos/afrobella/ to check out the other entries, and information about the talented designers who submitted them.
Thank you all so much for sharing your creative vision with me!

WOW.. some nice entries and I love the new logo.
Maybe you can post the contact info for your favorites as I am looking for one to design a new PR FIRM logo..

Aren’t they cool? I will have to contact the contestants to ask if they are cool with that. Or, you could e mail me at bella@afrobella.com, and I’ll gladly forward your e mail to the person you’re interested in!

Just passing through. The logo looks nice.

Pretty neat. There are many great ideas from the entries. Aside from the one you chose, I really like the ones from Bobbi-lee Richmond and Envibrance Studios’ one with the girl peering over Afrobella.

What made you choose this specific logo aside from the others? I think the other ones were gorgeous and would of given your site a brighter color and not look so dull.

It was hard to make a decision, Flex. I can’t deny that. Some of the other submissions were practically perfect and I consulted with friends, family, and graphic design professionals before making a final decision. I chose Shari’s design because it’s flexible and can work with any color scheme, and it’s simple enough to be a definitive logo. It’s not something I’d consider altering if I had a complete site redesign, which I do plan on doing. It felt like the right pick to me. Sorry you think the site looks dull. Thanks for writing.

Thank you for the shout out! Your blog really inspires me and was one of the driving forces for me to start one of my own. I love the logo that you selected too!
