It’s been getting kind of heavy around here – which I like, but I gotta switch it up on y’all today.
I have a backlog of products to review, so get ready for a lot of that in the coming week. The good people over at drugstore.com and beauty.com sent me some cool new eyeliner to review, and I gotta get my gush on.
I could never be a surgeon. My hands tremble too much. It can almost be embarrassing, if I have to like, hand someone a piece of paper and hold it out for a while. Needless to say, I’m a mess with liquid liner. I’ve been planning to buy one and really give it a go sometime soon, but since I got these Flat Liner automatic eyeliner pencils made by Physician’s Formula, I think I’m good on cool new eyeliners for now, thanks!
I’ve been both intrigued and skeptical about flat eyeliner pencils ever since the Styli-Style pencils came out in stores. I’ve wanted to buy one for a while, but the fact that I also needed to get their Flat Pencil sharpener kept me away. Not so with the Physician’s Formula!
The pencil is automatic, and it’s also hypoallergenic and kohl, so it makes for a fabulous, thick-or-thin liner that works kind of like a calligraphy pen for your eyes. AND it only costs $5.95. Love it!
I went to my friend Mindy’s birthday party last night, and wore a thick line of Ultra Black on my top lid, and paired that with my new favorite colored mascara, Sephora Waterproof in blue 02 (which is a bright turquoise that really shows up on my dark lashes). So pretty, and only ten buckaroos!
My makeup lasted alll night after multiple drinks of Makers Mark and Coke, shots of Crown Royal, and insane, eye-watering bouts of laughter. I definitely recommend.
In other drugstore.com related news, I was so excited to visit their homepage and see the Happy New You Resolutions sale.
Now’s a great time to shop – my beloved Matrix Biolage hair conditioners are on sale!
Amongst the typical resolutions (lose weight, stop smoking, get fit, look great…) I was psyched to see “go natural” listed. I eagerly clicked, only to discover that it’s all about natural products, not necessarily natural hair stuff.
But trust me to find some new stuff I don’t really need but am dying to try… 30% off Alba Hawaiian products!
I’ve been craving this stuff for a while, why?
Because I love the Terra Tints lip color – cool peppermint tingle + matte, subtle color = a winner. And also because I’m a sucker for yummy-sounding good-for-you beauty products and all of their products have gotten good customer reviews.
Their Coconut Milk facial wash sounds dreamy, the Plumeria Replenish Hair Wash is super gentle and features pineapple, papaya, awapuhi, and organic aloe as the first four ingredients, and I’m pretty sure I need this Gardenia Hydrating Hair Conditioner in my life.
That is all.

The eyeline sounds great! I am a shaker myself and it always akes me ages to get the same line on both my eyes(i know, it sounds sad)
I’ll check out if they sell it here in the UK and definitely give it a try.
Thanks for the tip about the ALBA products too, I’d never heard of them but they sound scrumptious.

Bella, I love your site so much! Those flat liners are da bomb, Imma have to go buy some! Those Alba products sound deeeeeelicious – I love the natural stuff.

I admit that I am clueless with eyeliner–I have seen it on other people and I have had my makeup done by a professional makeup artist twice, but I still can’t recreate the magic. I will try these out!
Also big up to Matrix Biolage–I love the stuff!

Thanks for the tip on Alba Terra Tints. I keep looking for a cheaper alternative to the old standby, clinique’s almost lipstick in black honey, but offerings by Neutrogena and Burt’s Bee’s haven’t been cutting it. Hopefully the Terry Tints will!

I’m very loyal to Lancome’s Artliner, the only liner that I actually manage to work with my two left hands. But this sounds very interesting, as does the blue mascara. Funny how well blue eye makeup works on darker skin, while it’s the blue-eyed girls who usually go for it.

what will you have me buying next??

I love that brand of eyeliner, you have to try the mascara that goes with it, it makes my lashes so long and so full.

i know it’s prob’ly too late but i’m catching up big-time and had to tell you that i’d already tried alba because they seem so delish, but was disappointed by a watered-down quality in their cocoa butter(?) lotion…walk good.
