I didn’t watch all of the Golden Globes (24 was on, y’all), but I was lucky enough to catch Jennifer Hudson win her award. And I cried for her like I knew I would.
I am so proud of her – she looked beautiful, her makeup was bangin’, and she was poised and funny but sincere.
I loved when she said “I’m turning into Effie up here,” and when she thanked the A-list audience for making her feel welcome – awwwww! And how cute was it when she said “You don’t know what this does for my confidence,” – bless her heart.
Bey did honestly look very happy for her, and that made me smile. Cause you know she knew she wasn’t gonna win against Meryl Streep – come on!
Best of all, Jennifer Hudson made sure to dedicate her award to Florence Ballard.
It was more than I had hoped for. That sealed the deal for me, I’m a JHud fan for life! And now I’m FINALLY gonna have to go see Dreamgirls – I was out of the country when it opened, and I haven’t found the time to go see it yet. But I think a Sunday matinee sounds just about perfect this weekend!

Jennifer Hudsons win last night was so magical and fitting for the statement island parents always make “Bad beginnings make good endings”!! No one was more deserving than her and how fitting on Martin Luther Kings Day. Her win, shows young women that you can be an individual, dance to your own drum, believe in yourself even when others don’t and love the skin your in! Also, she knows how to speak to the camera–> Thank God!!!!! She is on her way to great opportunities and I wish her all the blessings and gifts God has in store for her!!!

I was happy for Jennifer too.
I was happy for all of the winners, but it ESPECIALLY made me feel good to see all of the Black and Brown people be recognized.

You haven’t seen the Dreamgirls yet!? Both Jennifer and Eddie Murphy did an amazing job. And Bey’s makeup was fierce.

Hooray for Jen. I’d also like to give a big hooray for America Ferrera. I love her in Ugly Betty.

You REALLY need to see Dreamgirls! I know this soundtrack frontwards and backwards. My sister used to win local talent shows in NY at 12 singing ‘You’re Gonna Love Me”. This was way back before it become the staple on Apollo (I am 30, 6yrs younger than sis so you get the idea). Jennifer as Effie gave me chills. For a newcomer, that girl was the official bomb~

I’m so glad Jennifer got that award. She so deserved it! She put her heart and soul in that role.
I’m irritated at the fact that people are trying to put Jennifer against Beyonce. It was always happens with women and Black women; people try to put us against each other. Beyonce has her shine and praise and doesn’t have a reason to be against Jennifer Hudson. I wish folks would think positive sometimes.
