I saw this photo of New York over at Concrete Loop, and I just had to give my two cents. She might love makeup and “giving a lot of attention to her nails and skin” – no kidding, that’s apparently what she does in her spare time – but New York is so not afrobella. Even with the wig.
Having said that, I did get caught up watching some of her new show tonight. I felt my brain cells frittering away, too. Damn you, VH1!

Good point, Neex. I am still a big fan of Angie Stone’s music, but having seen her on Celebrity Fit Club… she disappointed me. As someone I always thought of as a friend-in-my-head, I got angry with her lack of backbone. And Angie also wears a wig. But she wears it well – or at least better than New York IMHO!
I almost wish they would give New York and Omarosa their own show. Now THAT would be high drama.

lol!! I watched the show this morning courtesy of the beloved Tivo. That girl and her mama are the craziest chics and all those uhhhh…men…at least her mother had most of them pegged right. I didn’t want to get caught up with NY this time but I can’t help it.

I haven’t seen the show as yet but I’m sure I will get sucked in, the same way I go hooked on Flav. Nothing about New York is remotely afro or bella. New York is exactly the type of woman I feel sorry for. Even though she acts like she is all about New York she obviously doesn’t love herself. If she did, she wouldn’t try so hard to be fake.
