I’ve been running myself ragged, y’all. I have a full time job so as much as I want to write and post Afrobella stuff all day, I gotta pull up my brakes sometimes and pry myself away. Because I stayed out late last night at my friend Jason “Fitzroy” Jeffers’ concert shindig, I’m fresh out of time and can’t post a truly eloquent Afrobella of the Week now. And trust when I say, this artist deserves all the eloquence I have and then some.
But I had to share a little something with you. My Afrobella of the Week is an iconic figure, one you’ve been clamoring for as a Hip-Hop Heroine. She’s one of the ones who made me want to go natural, who made me realize how powerful natural beauty could be. You probably already know who she is.
So I apologize, but I must leave you with this on a Friday morning, and I’ll post a long, loving Afrobella of the Week post over the weekend. Promise.
For now, bask in the glow of one of my favorite songs.
Happy Friday!

love her! great pick!
Mireille
Lauryn, L-Boogie, Ms. Hill . . . I love her! She’s the only person that I never got offended when people said I looked like her. Back in ’97 she made me want Senegalese twists, too bad I was too ignorant back then to grow them myself and I never could find anyone to put the right kind of extensions in. Great choice (of course, I like all of your choices so far.) I can’t wait to read your post. Happy Friday!

Afrobella,
This is one of my favorite songs ever! Now I need to put the Love Jones CD in my car.
Anyway, I always enjoy your blog, even on days when you don’t write much.
